After graduating from Cornell University with a bachelors of science in biology, I worked in education where I taught and tutored at risk students at City Year in Harlem New York. After transitioning my path to a career in advertisement technology sales at Yelp, I learned to love the company culture and the work I did but did not feel very accomplished just doing sales. I sought to find a new way to enter into the technology sector by combining my passion of understanding the needs of others and finding ways to help them. I am currently studying human computer interaction at the University of Michigan where I aspire to work in fields of UX design. This will ultimately allow me to combine my passions of helping others and working with technology. Since I’ve started my degree in fall of 2020 at the University of Michigan I have participated in a design jam where I and a team of 6 gathered to propose a design solution to integrate technology into education during the pandemic in such a way that it would increase engagement with students. Our proposal to use AR/VR technology gave us first place for the design jam. Additionally, in our interaction design class, our prototype won best class prototype!
